International Breast Cancer Awareness Walkathon 2025 – Spreading Hope and Health Awareness

Chennai, November 14, 2025:
In a remarkable initiative to promote women’s health MIT Sq and early detection of breast cancer, MIT Square, in collaboration with Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College of Engineering & Technology (Autonomous), Lions Clubs International, and MIT Square Welfare Foundation, organized the International Breast Cancer Awareness Walkathon 2025 at the Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College campus, Mamallapuram, Chennai.

The event was supported by Chettinad Super Speciality Hospital, which emphasized the theme —

> “Your Health is Your Strength – Self-Examine, Screen Early. Early Detection Saves Lives.”

Hundreds of students, faculty members, medical professionals, and community volunteers participated in the walkathon to show solidarity with breast cancer survivors and raise awareness about the importance of preventive health check-ups.

The awareness campaign highlighted that early detection through self-examination and regular screening can significantly reduce the risk and impact of breast cancer. Health experts from Chettinad Hospital also shared valuable insights on maintaining women’s wellness and the latest advancements in cancer detection and treatment.

Speaking at the event, representatives from MIT Square said,

> “Empowerment begins with awareness. Through such initiatives, we aim to encourage women to take proactive steps toward their health and inspire communities to support one another in the fight against breast cancer.”

The event marked an inspiring collaboration between academia, health institutions, and social organizations to create a strong message of hope, awareness, and empowerment.

பெண்களின் ஆரோக்கியத்தைப் பாதுகாப்பதற்கும், மார்பகப் புற்றுநோயை முன்னே அறிந்து தடுப்பதற்கும் விழிப்புணர்வை ஏற்படுத்தும் நோக்கில், MIT Square, தனலக்ஷ்மி ஸ்ரீனிவாசன் பொறியியல் மற்றும் தொழில்நுட்பக் கல்லூரி (தன்னாட்சி), Lions Clubs International, மற்றும் MIT Square Welfare Foundation இணைந்து, “International Breast Cancer Awareness Walkathon 2025” நிகழ்வை சென்னையில் உள்ள தனலக்ஷ்மி ஸ்ரீனிவாசன் கல்லூரி வளாகத்தில் மிகுந்த உற்சாகத்துடன் நடத்தினர்.

நூற்றுக்கணக்கான மாணவர்கள், பேராசிரியர்கள், மருத்துவ நிபுணர்கள் மற்றும் சமூக தன்னார்வலர்கள் இந்த நடைப்பயணத்தில் (Walkathon) பங்கேற்று மார்பகப் புற்றுநோய் விழிப்புணர்வை பரப்பினர்.

மருத்துவ நிபுணர்கள், குறிப்பாக செட்டிநாடு மருத்துவமனை மருத்துவர்கள், பெண்கள் தங்கள் ஆரோக்கியத்தை தானே பரிசோதிக்கும் பழக்கத்தையும், முன்கூட்டியே சோதனை செய்வதன் முக்கியத்துவத்தையும் வலியுறுத்தினர். முன்கூட்டியே கண்டறிதல் மார்பகப் புற்றுநோயின் தாக்கத்தையும் ஆபத்தையும் பெருமளவு குறைக்க முடியும் எனவும் தெரிவித்தனர்.
